Erica Rose splits her time between Houston and Los Angeles these past few months, but has recently started writing a book — tentatively titled Reality Girl Interrupted — about her journey through the world of reality television and the healing process required in its aftermath.

“I think a lot of us got caught up in the reality TV world and all that drama,” says Rose

Erica turned 30 in April, and has already noted a marked difference from her twenties: She’s studying to take the bar exam in February, and she’s feeling just about ready for marriage. Don’t think that means she’s giving up TV for good, though. Earlier this week, Katie Couric hosted a get-together for The Bachelor franchise alums for her hard-hitting daytime talk show, where Rose reconnected with Vienna Girardi — at different points in time her BFF and her nemesis — and dished on shocking moments of seasons past with Desiree Hartsock, Trista Sutter, Kacie B, Sean Lowe and more.

Erica Rose says she is happy Bachelor Pad is cancelled despite being named one of the most entertaining starlets last season by WetPaint, Katie Couric and others; read the story: http://www.wetpaint.com/the-bachelorette/articles/2013-06-13-which-bachelor-pad-star-is

Below, the “Bachelor” “bad girls” Erica Rose, Vienna Girardi and Courtney Robertson talk about their time on the show, with Erica admitting that her behavior on TV harmed her real-life reputation: (Via Pop To It: Celebrity Culture with a Twist!)

Do you think she would be a great Bachelorette? She is beautiful, honest, funny, smart, loves animals, and cooks. This girl, a theater and creative English writing graduate at Emory University, admits, the personality she created for TV was for “ratings”. She is really the girl next door, with many friends, the person you can count on, who does volunteer work. She is actually the director of the Rose Petals division of The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) and uses her law degree to help the unfortunate with sex trafficking, bullying, and human rights.

Erica also assists her mom, America’s premier silhouette artist Cindi Rose in her silhouettes for survivor efforts. For more information visit http://silhouettesbycindi.com/ and http://hollyroseribbon.org/

Erica’s father is Houston Celebrity Plastic Surgeon Dr. Franklin Rose who has performed plastic surgery on at least 3 of the contestants from the Bachelor franchise. The doctor, who has operated on the ORIGINAL Bachelorette Trista Sutter recently, along with Bachelor finalists Vienna Girardi and Ella Nolan, laughs when highlighting the business his daughter has brought to his practice in the past few years.

“We’ve had several of her friends stay with us here at the house to recover after their surgeries. My wife Cindi and I even have a special area set up for them. We jokingly call it ‘The Bachelor Guest Quarters.’ ” Franklin Rose tells CultureMap.

About Junker Designs:
Tod Waters and Giuliana Mayo’s rock and roll aesthetic has covered the likes of Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson, Johnny Depp, 69 Eyes, Steven Tyler, Pink, Britney Spears and pretty much everyone in between. Waters and Mayo both relocated to Los Angeles from the south in 2000. Lenny Kravitz’ stylist happened upon some pieces Tod was working on, asked if he could buy them and that was the catalyst. They have since grown into a Los Angeles institution. They make everything in Los Angeles, stressing the importance of well-constructed, American made clothing. About 80% of their clothes are made from recycled materials, whether found in a dumpster or at the flea market, they turn what would for some be trash, into wearable treasure. www.junkerdesigns.com

About Nina Savill Jewelry:
Nina is a trained metalsmith who later became a self-taught jeweler, working in the back
of her fine art gallery, which she owned in New York City’s Lower East Side. She applies
the techniques and approach of sculpture to designing jewelry. Relocating to Los
Angeles in 2008, her jewelry reflects a design philosophy steeped in experimentation
and the transference of nature and bold architectural forms into unique personal style
and expression. Each piece is currently hand crafted in a sunny loft in downtown Los
Angeles. Her work is available at The Mercantile Shop in Healdsburg, CA, through

About SOMEWHERELOSANGELES:
Nelly Fusil brings her Parisian style and state of mind to LA with the launch of
SOMEWHERELOSANGELES. Being a fashion consultant and working in high-end
fashion stores in Los Angeles, she enjoys wearing gloves as part of her look, and she
hears often, “You look so French!” To accommodate the California climate, Nelly sought
out black fingerless gloves at Lacrasia NYC, and she asked artists of different mediums
to express themselves on a small piece of fine Italian leather. Nelly and her collaborators
create one-of-a-kind pieces. She also designs with studs, printing and beads, collecting
ideas to launch an affordable ready to wear line. www.somewherelosangeles.com

About Chloe Trujillo:
Artist, Musician, Mom, Designer, Rock Wife, Healer, Scientist, Channel, Chloe Trujillo
was born into the Parisian Fashion World. Learning Reiki, becoming an Angel
practitioner and including meditation in her daily life, she soon realized she was
channeling messages of inner truths and visions in her paintings and her music. These
oneiric symbols and words do have a strong meaning after all, as we are all connected
really, just One. Chloe shows her art, performs and shares her talents even more by
creating a top-of-the-line, feel good, colorful, mystical, uplifting, rock n’ roll fashion line! www.chloetrujillo.com

About Q by Pasquale:
Pasquale Fabrizio was raised in a family with a rich heritage of shoemaking. For nearly
fifty years the Fabrizio family built a worldwide reputation for precise and expert shoe
craftsmanship by making made-to-measure shoes for Cary Grant, Dean Martin and
Frank Sinatra, among countless other Hollywood celebrities of that era. Through Pasquale’s passion and perfectionist’s vision the family business has become, according to “W” Magazine, “the best in the world.” Now, before stars, such as Madonna, Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, Anastacia, Tom Hanks and Celine Dion attend the Oscars, the Grammys or the Emmys, they first go to Pasquale. In 2005 Pasquale started with his unsurpassed knowledge of shoe architecture to create the world’s first wearable glass shoe. After researching and engineering the technology required to make these shoes a reality, the result is a beautiful combination of cutting edge technology and old-fashioned tradition. Each shoe is 100% handmade in Italy with a sole made of a specially designed glass, which is unsurpassed in strength, durability, flexibility and transparency. A beautiful assortment of handcrafted Murano glass and 24k gold beads accent the fine Italian leather to create a one-of-a-kind work of wearable art. www.qbypasquale.com

With this procedure my husband was able to finally experience the miracle of bringing a baby into this world because within 3 months we were pregnant! Even though my husband has always been an excellent father to my children, I am so blessed to be able to share this experience with him and to have given him the opportunity to have a child of his own. What a blessing she is and we are SO grateful to Dr. Rosenfeld & all of his staff for making it possible!” Brandie – Vidor, TX

“It’s twins! My experience at Dr. Rosenfeld’s office was more of a joy than I ever imagined. After already having two kids and a tubal ligation I was set on not having additional kids, but later I got married and my husband did not have any children. Knowing I had gotten my tubes tied was scary because I didn’t know if they were repairable or how much had been cut off. Dr. Rosenfeld and his staff were so caring and optimistic. They performed a couple of easy tests and decided I would be candidate for tubal reversal. Dr. Rosenfeld explained the outpatient procedure in great detail and it was a simple, semi-painless process! The follow-up care was fantastic and in less than 3 months I was pregnant!!!! Now we have 5 month old fraternal twins. Thanks!” Shemise – Houston, TX

“Katelyn is my husband’s very first biological child. John is so happy to finally have his dream of 20 years come true. We greatly appreciate all that you did. Thank you Dr. Rosenfeld and staff. Without your help, we could not have had our precious baby girl. Thank you all.” Susan & John – Harker Heights, TX

“My husband tragically lost his first wife and son and though I had my tubes tied six years ago, I wanted grow our family together. I traveled to see Dr. Rosenfeld because after all I had read and heard, I really believed in him. Only weeks after my tubal reversal surgery, my husband and I shared joyful tears…we were pregnant! Thank you Dr. Rosenfeld.” Bethany – San Antonio, TX

“I had been awaiting for this moment for the longest time, not ever really knowing if it would come. And yet, here I am. My name’s Anita and I had my tubal ligation on Oct 1998. After my divorce I re-met an old high school acquaintance fourteen years later! My tubal reversal came along on June 2009 by Dr. Rosenfeld, the on Q pain pump made a huge difference with pain. Four months exactly we conceived! We had our glorious little baby girl Feby Lyn on July 6 of 2010. Dr. Rosenfeld has made our dream/wish/miracle happen. It is because of his amazing potential and dedication to his work that we get to savor the flavor of such enchanting wonders. The road to my need of becoming a mother once again has been fulfilled. The necessity for experiencing the role of being a father figure for my husband has finally happened and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts Dr. Rosenfeld. No words, no money, no emotion or action would ever permit our gratitude to glow to its fullest to validate how grateful we will always be. Our daughter has reopened our eyes to the beauty that is humanity in it’s simplicity. We searched for a GOOD doctor with the capability of proving his work and I have to say . . . we are left pretty amazed cause we found a GREAT doctor, Dr. Rosenfeld more than fulfilled those shoes. Thank you… always” Anita – Austin, TX

Décor alert: Silhouette artwork makes bold statements

A single use of color creates drama, and when master silhouette artist, Cindi Harwood Rose, designed a black, cream, and white space, she immediately thought that classic silhouettes would be a stylish element.

“I chose the idea that black and white combines all colors and none of the colors, at the same time, depending if you were using the theory of light or opaqueness. It is the yin/yang of life—opposites that cry neither good or evil, just existing side by side. A great room, creates thought, and with a shock of color, here and there, one awakens extraordinary feelings of awe,” the scissors artist states. The playful silhouettes by Cindi span over 30 years– there is a cowboy created from her former Disneyland silhouette art days, a reverse white on black denying stereotypes, and silhouettes of animals, children, and family groupings. C. H. Rose, even empowered some of the silhouettes with her penmenship and humor. McKenzie-Childs funky black and white serving patterns tease Rose’s whimsical detailed artwork. The room boldly states the French/American chic-style, recalling the fact that life should be lived to the fullest! To add a lively professional silhouette wall, just contact silhouettesbycindi.com or CindiSilhouettes@gmail.com

Glamor becomes a home’s crowning star via stunning silhouettes by premier silhouette artist Cindi Harwood Rose in a luxury high-rise, the Royalton, in 77019 district, in Houston, the most thriving economic city in America. The theme is black, cream, and white, with touches of brilliant floral color. The main artist, international humanitarian and American Hero, Cindi Rose, has greeted me today in this model dwelling.

She is dressed in smart black Prada with a lovely silhouette pendant on her neck, one of her own designs. Her vision, and toned frame is a silhouette of slender grace, she is an icon to society, not only for her art, but her deep sense of light and love. Although you could call her beautiful, her penetrating eyes examine beyond a surface of a face, letting you know that neither she nor her art are shallow.

Though the color palette is mostly black and white, the 19th floor view overlooking Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city, is bursting with colors and vibrations. The welcoming entrance is walled with whimsical Cindi H. Rose hand-cut silhouettes framed in various colors, mounted on different borders, some of characters, some pets, and many with words of inspiration on them. “I wanted to make this particular space thought provoking,” Mrs. Rose mentioned, thus, simple words, “Listen, love, learn,” or “Every great dog needs a home and a bone,” are hand-written on some of her fine scissor arts. A guest bathroom amplifies the radiant paper cut arts with a linear row of unique silhouettes streaming down a wall. Cindi has furthered the theme with silhouettes hand-drawn on the soap holder, and room spray.

She explains that the theme of silhouette began as early as cave dwellings on the walls, Greek urns, and in Chinese embroidery patterns, yet the type of art she mastered, is a French and English art, once called shades, and later renamed as silhouettes in honor of a French minister of finance, Etienne de Silhouette. Silhouette artwork was less expensive than oil portraits, and became the rage for royalty a few hundred years ago, pre-camera. True to the fact that all real silhouette artists are artists, the home is also spotlighted with Cindi Harwood Rose’s oil and acrylic paintings, and sculptures. In research on the internet, Cindi’s name comes up first as the most famous, fastest, top, best silhouette artist—her website is silhouettesbycindi.com. The scarceness of these primed master profile etchers is astounding—only a few handfuls, world-wide of noted talents— Olly Moss for his comic book and star silhouettes, Kara Walker for her racial provoking wall sized Dickens’ style silhouettes, and Carter Custera, for his humorous almost wall-traced interpreted cut arts. C. Rose’s name comes up as the America’s and the world’s premier silhouette artist, for intricate, delicate, creative works.

A modern black leather couch mingles with a sleek black coffee table, pillows straight from Restoration Hardware in white, black and cream have numbers and words hodge-podged on a burlap fabric. On the kitchen counter, is a platter of edibles, made by Cindi Rose—eggplant capanotti, raw sesame cheese, organic vegetables, hummus with her yard-grown herbs, and a sweet potato pie, all set in white dishes that have her silhouette art, sharpie markered on. The huge black marble kitchen theater style table, has silhouette placemats, silhouettes by Cindi, and MacKenzie-Childs dishes. She has the theme going further, with mugs imprinted with her artwork of bride and groom silhouettes. “I love doing silhouettes at weddings,” she says, and always donates to “Silhouettes for Survivors”.
The world’s foremost silhouette artist, Cindi Harwood Rose, will be making an appearance at Day One at 3490 California Street in San Francisco!

RSVP on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/470769516332609/

Cindi Harwood, a fourth generation artist and paper cutter, began drawing portraits as a child, and doing silhouettes as a teen. Her mother, Doris, was an architect, and paper cutter of known skills. Cindi took her talents to both Disney theme parks in order to earn her college degree in fine arts and communications at University of Texas. From the beginning, people where amazed at her speed, and unmatched details. Very few silhouette artists can master the interior cuts, so often they are solid black, and very generic. Also, few can do groupings.

Her fee will be $35 each person, with duplicate copies for only $10 a person, that way fathers, grandfathers, and uncles can have a silhouette, and this is less than a hand-made greeting card.

Plus, Cindi Harwood Rose, is acclaimed as the top silhouette artist in America. The silhouette historian, Peggy McClard recommends collecting Cindi Harwood Rose’s silhouettes, they will go up in value, as collectable. Some of her earlier paper profiles (she has snipped portraits for 40 years) have gone for a few hundred dollars!

Appointments must be made to reserve a slot with a $10 deposit. Call (415) 440-3291.

She will be at the store after school hours on Friday, June 14th from 2-6pm; and on Saturday June 15th 10:15am – 2:30pm. All silhouettes will be mounted on 5 x 7 acid free paper.

Cindi will have acid-free mats for $5 available for sale, along with lovely picture frames from $12 to $35, less than retail for the quality she will carry.

Matthew Bone’s Print Release

Matthew Bone Limited Edition Giclee Print

Los Angeles based fine artist Matthew Bone, known for his oil painting portraits of adult starlets such as Aiden Starr, Kimberly Kane, Roxy Deville, Bailey Jay, Satine Phoenix and Belladonna has released his first set of giclee prints, featuring the enigmatic Belladonna.

Matthew Bone was born into and reared by a clan of Tuscan Raiders in Los Angeles. Raised on a diet of comic books, horror movies, and Pornography. Matthew injects a distinctive voice into his painting. Pride, lust, vengeance, the lurid underbelly of humanity, and the allegories that illustrate the consequences of its revelation have long been the focus of Matthew Bone’s work. By utilizing the conventions of pop culture, and its willingness to embrace artifice as the sincere, Matthew is able to create his own re-envisioned modern mythology.

Over the past 10 years, Matthew’s work has been collected by celebs such as Gerard Way, Alice Cooper, Jason Biggs and James Gunn. He has shown all over the world in Cannes, Berlin, NYC, Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin and London and is currently represented by Last Rites Gallery, NYC and La Luz De Jesus, LA.

“Growing up as a latchkey kid, time was filled with unmonitored viewing of porn, horror and sci-fi. By using the adult entertainment stars of today, I’m able to tap into the artificial world of the porn starlets that (de)formed my early ideas of sexuality and femininity. Through adult hindsight, these sensationalistic images are filtered into a post-modern commentary and exploration of our personal mythologies”

Matthew is currently working on his piece for a June 8th group show at Parlor Gallery in Asbury, NJ and his next show with Last Rites Gallery that will open in March of 2014, it will feature large format paintings from reference shot under blacklight to emulate deep sea bioluminescence as a parable for self evolution and further explore his aesthetic fascination with Wet and Messy fetish, portraiture and photorealism.

Recently, Silhouette Artist Cindi Harwood Rose was invited to do silhouettes at both the Sarah and James Polk Presidential Museum and the Thomas Jefferson family reunion as a special guest.

Cindi’s silhouette of President Thomas Jefferson.

Silhouettes at Monticello of Decendents of President Thomas Jefferson at the annual Thomas Jefferson Family Reunion:

“Thank you for your lovely artistry at the Monticello event. Carmen and I were delighted with the results.” – Carmen’s Nana, Evelyn Randolph

The famous paper art profile master raved: “I was recently invited to Monticello to do silhouettes of President Thomas Jefferson’s family reunion, and to tour the lovely grounds, and recreate history!

I am really enjoying visiting the former homes of the United States of America’s Presidents and doing their silhouettes, as well as their generations of family and patrons.”

Pictured here is Cindi’s silhouette of Cornelia Jefferson, President Jefferson’s granddaughter, an artist who taught drawing, painting and sculpture. She died in 1871 and was buried at Monticello.

C. H. Rose, famous silhouettest claimed, “I fell in love with Reston, Virginia, and Monticello! I loved the Thomas Jefferson family reunion, there were artists and architects, throughout the group, seven grandfathers ago.

What an honor to do silhouettes at our third President’s family reunion – It was overwhelming to be in such a warm environment of intellectual and artistic individuals who stay true to making the world a better place through their careers. Of note, many of the distinguished family chose lifestyles that promote the fine arts, living with environment conscious design, which is apparent in the lovely setting at Monticello. It is a destination, and it should be put on your “to visit list.” The rooms were intimate and small, which I adore, it was cozy! I would never want a large room, but oh, how I want those large closets, that were not popular in the 1700’s.

Thomas Jefferson is key to our declaration of Independence, and now we have proof, all men are created equal by G-d, we live in the best country, it does not matter if you are democratic or republican, T. J., was both! The reunion accepted all its descendants of all races, and each were a badge to describe who they descended from, other than me and my college roommate who came to enjoy our time together.

The silhouette wall shown (other than the ones I hold which are mine) were done by the Pantograph, which is a machine that took a photo profile, and shrunk it, and a family member than cut the silhouette from that. It is cheating, but is priceless, due to who she cut silhouettes of, and who they were. Even in the 1700’s there were not more than 28 true living silhouette artists (same as today) who could look, and cut the profile without a sketch, light, tracing, projector, and with the interior details, and groupings. It is a gift, and any real silhouette artist will tell you they feel the same way! Of course I brought some of my Vintage French silhouette paper, that is over 50 years old, that I purchased in bulk 30 years ago, not made anymore! I felt very connected with a family history of architects, engineers, artists, lawyers, doctors, good people trying to help others, doing causes to make the world better.”

~Special thank yous to Marlene Koester for the photographs click on any picture below to see full-sized image~

Sarah Polk’s music book, used when she was 14 years old, shown above, is on display at Polk Presidential Hall’s exhibit “Sarah Polk: First Lady of Fashion” through July. “It is not known if the hand-inked book, dated 1818, was created by Sarah Polk or someone else,” curator Tom Price said. “But it does show she was familiar with the song ‘Hail to the Chief,’ pictured on the right-hand page. Interestingly, she began the tradition of using it as the theme song for the President of the United States.” Also pictured is Sarah Polk’s framed silhouette. You thought your family was complete, but now you want more children. There are steps you can take to make your dream a reality – and conceive a baby naturally following tubal reversal surgery.

Tubal reversal is considered the most effective way to become pregnant after a tubal ligation. It’s possible to become pregnant for a fraction of the cost of in vitro fertilization and often occurs with only three visits to the office. And tubal reversal surgery can produce multiple successful pregnancies.

The doctor you choose is the most important factor in determining your success. Dr. Bernard Rosenfeld has specialized in this area for over 30 years, performing thousands of tubal ligation reversal procedures with the highest successful pregnancy rates – over 80%.

His attention to detail and specialized training required to use ultra fine 10-0 sutures that promote better results and faster healing – generally reserved for delicate eye surgeries – continues to set him apart in his field.

Dr. Rosenfeld is sensitive to your feelings, perspectives and concerns. He treats his patients with respect. You deserve special treatment from your doctor, and Dr. Rosenfeld and his talented staff are committed to providing you with the BEST personalized, quality care.

Considering whether to choose IVF over Tubal Reversal surgery? Check out the facts:

Thousands of Babies!
Suprisingly, tubal reversal surgery is LESS EXPENSIVE and has a HIGHER SUCCESS RATE than IVF- costly and risky in-vitro fertilization. Here are some important facts to consider:

Modern advances in tubal reversal surgery now offers a higher overall successful pregnancy rate and long term results, making it a priority choice among patients looking to get the procedure done. And here’s the facts about the savings: tubal reversal costs only $6,400 with no additional fees, while IVF costs over $15,000 for every cycle. Insurance doesn’t cover the full costs of IVF, and more than one cycle may be required for the patient. The total price of $6,400 for tubal reversal surgery not only includes the surgery but all the preceding and post procedure functions, including hospital charges, pain relief, operating and recovery room, ultrasound, pre and post-op visits, medications, and more. If after reviewing your tubal sterilization medical records Dr. Rosenfeld feels that you would have a higher success rate with IVF over tubal reversal, he will recommend the best IVF center in your area. Dr. Rosenfeld will always be 100% honest with you, because the ultimate goal is for you to have a baby.
